Room with a View: Painting your space

Here my my first two photos that I took. I liked the first one better, but for my next piece I will try to expand out a little more (the places I am staying in is small).

For the first sketch I just focused on the room. Not items or furniture.

For this sketch I focused on drawing out the tones of my reference.

For this one I was thinking about making the couch larger in the space it is in, but was unsure about it.

This sketch was looking to the room and creating more space around the furniture. I am not at my house, as I wish I was for this project. So maybe I can explore on the idea of space and emptiness? Missing something?

Here are the colour palettes that I came up with.

I decided to chose this one. But I did change the colour a little bit.
This was the results.

It was hard to paint an object that had light coming from behind it.

Here is my final piece, I decided to do my hallway! On the left is my room and on the right is the bathroom. I wanted there to me more marks compared to the first one I painted and used a mix of  watery and thick layers to of paints create my painting. A part of me wishes I was house to do this project because I would have had more interesting objects and views to paint. Although, I am happy how this one came out.
